The Robe à la Piémontaise

It is very rare to see a robe à la Piémontaise because the style was only "in" for a few years in the 1780's after which it pretty much disappeared. Also, it looks similar to the robe à la Polonaise so you have to look closely to see the actual difference. It almost looks like a mixture of all the different styles:
The bodice is closely fitted like on a robe à l'Anglaise but still has the pleads hanging from the back's neckline like on a robe à la Francaise while the skirt can be draped like a robe à la Polonaise!

There is another feature that sets the Piémontaise apart from the Francaise: the bodice and the skirt are two different pieces on the Piémontaise. Occasionally, the pleads were stitched to the bodice but there is no definite rule for this. If the skirt is not draped then the pleads hangs loose from the back's neckline which would technically mean that it would flow behind a lady if she was walking outside in the wind.
